ABOUT ME

photo

You can learn more about me by reading my blog.

I am a mother of three sons (ages 23, 19, and 18) and have been married 22 years to this really crazy, goofy guy. My dog, Abbie Rae, is half beagle-half lab.

I live in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and work full-time in a law office. I am Lutheran.

I earned a bachelor's degree in business education and a two year certificate in legal secretarial studies. I feel one of my top accomplishments in life is obtaining those two degrees in 3 1/2 years, while working full time, never taking out a loan, paying for it all myself, all while supporting myself. Where as all that energy gone?

Upon my 21st birthday long ago on July 2nd, I kicked off life in a hurry. I was married on August 9th, bought our home in October, graduated in December, and gave birth to my first son in May.
Again, where as all that energy gone?

When I graduated college, the first Apples were the big thing and I remember simply being amazed at how a cursor moved across the screen. My computer knowledge was very limited. Therefore, my computer skills are self-taught. I remember learning when I purchased my first home computer. I take two feet and jump in, explore, search and ask questions, and learn. I think I shall always love to learn knew things. I find it difficult, though, to keep ahead of my teenage sons now. Occassionally, they show me things.

I am totally addicted to this great hobby!

My digi-birthday is May 31, 2005. I asked many questions and soaked in as much knowledge about this hobby and Photoshop Elements, always trying new things.

I am not associated with any shop and do try to support all digital sites.
It has been difficult to say 'no' to designing or helping out other sites, but I feel it is important for me to stay neutral in order to teach others how to digiscrap.

Many new digiscrappers dream of whether or not they can make extra cash on the side by becoming designers, especially when they see how easy it is to make elements after they learn their program. I believe, though, that quaility elements are not as easy as they really appear. The great designers have some real artistic talent! Although I have a small shop now, I still do not feel great talent in this area and my shop is merely there to help support the cost of this site.

At first, I also wondered whether I should make a goal to become a designer. I prayed about it and God reminded me that I was not artistic, but that digital scrapbooking made me artistic. I was reminded that my gifts are in teaching, not the arts. It was at that time I made a goal to write tutorials and teach others.
This website is a product of that goal and everything I shared remained free to all for 2 1/2 years.

In the fall of 2007, after two long months of work, my new forum, gallery, and store were born. I look forward to continuing to help and teach others about this great hobby and offer help for free, as well as offer paid special services.
