Welcome to the Filter Class! Take a tour through the filter drop down box in Photoshop Elements. Do you ever wonder what each filter does and how you can utilize it in digital scrapbooking? Each lesson will challenge you to utilize a filter or a group of filters. Push yourself to think outside the box. These lessons might change your scrapbooking style from traditional-layout-realism to artistic. Before you begin this class, choose whether you will utilize the class as inspiration for digital scrapbooking layouts to fit in with your current goals or utilize the class as inspiration to create a special book. I suggest creating a "favorite sayings" hardbound book with your favorite photos in artistic mixes. Did you know there are 103 filters in Photoshop Elements. Yes, this will be an intensive and long class! EARNING ICON Please complete set 1 before beginning set 2, and so on. You may jump around within each set as you do the challenges, but do not move onto the next set until you complete a set. The challenges are in sets of 20. Once you complete each set, you will be awarded a special icon by your name. More importantly, your true reward will be your completed layouts. You do 5 layouts per month to remain in the class to earn an icon. (Of course, you can always do them outside of the class). At the beginning of each month, we will check to see everyone’s progress. If you have been too busy to scrap or have had life circumstances that kept you from scrapping, you can always sign up again to pick up where you left off. We will have saved your credits. Please know that we will not look down on you for beginning again. In fact, we welcome it! Never give up! CREDIT THREAD Please introduce yourself in the credit thread. This is where you can check your progress through the class. After you post in the thread, we will see it and then edit the first post in this thread to reflect that you have done the lesson next to your name. This is also where we request that you ask questions about how the class works, help in finding things, or to notify us if there is an error in your credits (rather than by private e-mail, although we will answer you if you do send us an e-mail). In this way, all staff may know what is going on to help you more efficiently. The credit thread can always be found from the main page of the forum. Just scroll down to the section on credits. You can ask specific questions about tutorials in the thread where the video is hosted. TO BEGIN The links on the guide take you back to the forum where the video lesson or challenge is located and where you will post your lesson when you finish. Click on the "Set 1" link above to find the link to the first lesson. After you complete your layout, upload it to the gallery, and then use the links underneath the layout to post it in the challenge thread. ALSO, visit the inspiration thread. For those who want to make an inspiration book of thoughts, rather than layouts, this is the thread to share your sayings and ideas with each other. ALSO, installing filters you have downloaded is covered in Course 2, but the video has been duplicated for your convenience into the Filters Challenge thread area. If you need any help, feel free to ask in this thread after viewing the video. I would suggest watching the help videos to familiarize yourself with Hummie's World. Especially watch the "Introduction to Classes" video. The gallery help videos are also important to help you learn how to upload and how to post from the gallery to the forum. It is helpful for us to get to know you better by name if you add something that we can call you into your signature line. This can be found in “settings.” You may also change both the "avatar" and the "profile" image from the settings. Have fun and I look forward to watching you be inspired!
