Summer is well on its way now, and as the weather becomes warmer, and the gardens fuller, there will be lots of photo opportunities for us to take advantage of. We all know the importance of using the photos and creating lovely pages of memories for ourselves and our friends and family to enjoy. Here at Hummie's World we hope to teach you some new techniques to enhance your pages, challenge you with lots of different ideas, and then enjoy each other's pages in our gallery!

I have been having trouble with emails bouncing back from the site email addresses and the hosting indicates they are working on it, but do not know when they will get it fixed. First, now when you click "What's New?" on the blue bar at the top of the page, you will see the new "activity stream." Of course, underneath the blue bar is the familiar green bar where you can choose specific types of new content.
Now you can register in the forums, if you have not done so already, with just a few clicks using Facebook. In the alternative, if you already have a forum ID from registration, just log in and then you can connect your account to Facebook. Once connected, use Facebook to log in or use new buttons when you create a new thread, reply, create a blog post, comment on a blog, or comment on an article on the homepage which gives you the option to publish your comment to Facebook.
As always, we appreciate everyone who shares Hummie's World with their friends and helps our community grow.
THE BOOMERANG NEWS
Wow! Kiki Cole Designs has a fabulous new kit and add-on's available in the store which are awesome. The add-on's make scrapping easy.
You can see layouts and find links to the store in the forum thread here. Of course, if you purchase the products and use them in a layout, please do share your layouts in this thread. As always, you can add other products in too from any store.
"Keeping Track" makes me think of keeping track of goals or calories or exercise, but that is not what this kit is about. Scrapping is all about exploring ourselves as well as our relationships to those past, present and future; it's about recording those memories and taking the time to journal our pages. Keeping Track celebrates the scrapper who does just that, and reminds all of us to write it down lest we forget, to keep track of those precious memories. I love that!
WHAT'S NEW FOR SUBSCRIBERS
Night Scene Photography Great help for getting fantastic night time shots! The shutter priority mode, or shutter priority presets, are used at night to allow time for more light to enter the camera. The fun is that the longer the shutter is open, the more the camera captures the glare on the lights.
Night Portrait posted May 26 Learn the difference between night scene and night portrait in that the portrait photos utilize the flash to capture objects in the foreground while the slow shutter speed captures objects in the night in the background.

Classes are the heart of Hummie's World. We are all about "just scrapping" and learning. Here is the page regarding the classes. Subscription are $5.50 per month and you will have access to all classes (except designer class) whether you join a class. Observe the sidebar of the classes page to find the online guides with a description of what is involved in the class.

Course 2 This is one of the most popular classes at Hummie's World! Each lesson is a technique to be utilized in a layout which is taught by video. It is a great way to get layouts already on your to-do list finished while learning new skills at the same time. You are about to embark on a journey of techniques and discoveries that will have you scrapping for a long time! There are currently 88 lessons.
Course 2, Take 2 Because of the success of Course 2, many of our "pioneers" wanted to have a refresher course on what they've learned. So, we've taken the lessons, jumbled them up, and are offering them to you once again for a new icon for you to sport in the forum!
Elements You will be encouraged to think outside the box to use digital scrapbooking elements in a new way. Each lesson contains a download of an element in the category of the lesson. Use this download in your layout or any in your stash in a unique way in your layout.
Designer (enrollments on hold; will be a separate paid class when it returns; class being reformatted)
The above classes will always be visible for viewing to subscribers. Once enrolled, you can continue earning credit for lessons as long as you reach the monthly goal set for you. There is no need to enroll again each month. The below three classes will only be open for viewing during the month of June and will not be available again until December. Scrap as many layouts as you can in a month and then join us again in six months to pick up where you left off.
Faithbooking is simply keeping a "book" of your "faith." Faithbooking is integrating our faith beliefs and faith experiences into scrapbook pages. Faithbooking is leaving a legacy of faith heritage to our children, and our children's children. Faithbooking emphasizes our spiritual journal.
Recipe Are you looking for something to give as a gift? Then hurry to do these lessons and create a book or set of cards! Are you wanting a new fresh way to organize your own recipes? Choose a new set-up and create layouts with recipes on them. There are many ideas in ways to utilize digital scrapbooking layouts as recipes.
Use It! Challenge Each challenge has a download available made by Hummie. Use it in your layout. Get creative and be inspired! Just use it!

Hummie's has it all! When I first started digital scrapbooking, I searched and read many different websites on tutorials on how to use Photoshop Elements for scrapbooking, but it was just a list of sites that I bookmarked to someday check out. I didn't learn too much that way. I somehow stumbled upon Hummie's and I was hooked! Hummie's world has it all! Tutorials, gallery ideas & inspiration, support from fellow scrapbookers and now a designer store! Since signing up for classes, it makes me want to take the time for myself to get my scrapbooking done. Being a mom of two, this is a nice way for some Me time! Thank you Hummie and Dawn for all the work you ladies have put into each of the lessons, the video tutorials, answering all the different threads on the forums.
