6/16-6/30~ Photography Theme ~ My Lawn

Your photography challenge for the second half of June is to capture your "lawn". Whether it's green or brown or snow-covered or needs mowing or even if it's a patch of green or concrete in front of your apartment building. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. Honestly. I so enjoy looking at what you've captured. Here's my...

    New This Week

(I will edit this post as new things come out). Each week on Flickr, I would like to create a new thread with a theme for us to share photos (to replace the old "by theme" category in the old gallery). Last week we did Father's Day. This week we are sharing...

    Digi Time Zone Clocks

Published on 03-19-2013 08:10 AM  Number of Views: 112

Here are some clocks to help you convert your time zone to the EST (Eastern Time Zone) standard for digi chats.

The clocks are currently not showing up in this post, but you can also see them in the sidebar of Digiscrap Map.

Chatbox - How To and Where

     Number of Views: 530

The chat box is a fun place to meet together and chat while we scrap and visit the forum. It will appear at the top of your screen and is available on Fridays during Friday night scrap and chat or other pre-announced times.

Here's a screen shot of the chat box, that shows you some key areas you need to be aware of:

Note the bottom, where you type text and enter it. Above the area where you can change the size of the text you are viewing, you will see formatting options for your text, including changing the color of text (black by default).

At the top, there is a drop down arrow. The below image shows those options:

The default chat box only shows a limited number of entries, so be sure to check the archive to see all the messages posted within the last 24 hours to get in on the conversation!

Another place to hang out is on Google plus! Be sure to add Hummie's World to your circle, and leave comments and chat with us! You can also find this link in the header of the site. Google Plus has a "hang out" feature which we will announce ahead of time video chats.

There is one other place that you can come to to hang out with us and that's Digiscrap Map! If you have an account with ustream, you can chat with us when we're broadcasting live! Go to ustream and create an account, then when we're live, you can log in and chat with us! You can find our channel here.

And, of course, you can always start or join a conversation in the chatter area of the forum! There's games there, too!

Looking forward to chatting with you!

    CHATROOM HELP
    1. Registration to the forum and gallery is not linked to the chatroom. You do not need to register for the chatroom, but may if you would like to reserve your ID.
Simply tick the box for "guest" and the password box will go away.
Click login and find the appropriate room.

During the chat, you may see messages that begin with an asterick.
These messages are written by the robot.
You can talk to the robot if you want to, but he will most likely not respond.

When you enter the room, the video will begin playing.
If it is annoying to you, you can immediately stop the video by clicking on the pause button.

To choose a different video or go back and forth between the available videos, click on the icon that looks like a little piece of paper with an arrow.

To make the video undock, click on the little square in the upper right-hand corner.

Once undocked, you can grab the corner of the video box and drag it to resize it.

There are many tools in the toolbar. Have fun playing with them all!
A special feature in this chatroom is the ability to send .jpg's right into the chat. You can share a layout during the chat by clicking on the image upload icon and then clicking on the words "upload an image."

If the button doesn't work, it may be that you do not have the right javascript enabled in your browser. Try a different browser.

There are many options to change your text size. This will change the way everyone else sees your text. I especially appreciate it when your text is made larger, but don't go too large! My eyes are getting so old!

A variety of options as can seen below are available to you by clicking the options button. If the sounds are annoying you, this is where you can make certain types of sounds go away. There is also a sound button out on the main page right below the options button which turns off all sound in one click.
I also prefer the first setting to display the user and message in a single line as it allows more to be in a window at a time.

If you are having trouble grabbing a link or are a slow reader, click on the stop scrolling icon.
This does not actually stop the scrolling, but rather keeps the chat from jumping back to the bottom when you scroll up to review older posts.

If you would like to send someone a private message, double click on their name.
You can minimize the private message box to see the main chat and then maximize it again.

To adjust the size for your monitor and needs, in Internet Explorer, click the flyout arrow in the lower right hand corner and test the various zoom sizes until it works the best for your monitor.
