I am excited to introduce you to BernieTuffs! Bernie is such a sweet person, and Hummie and I appreciate her activity in the forum, and chatting with us via the chatbox, and in the chatter threads in the forum.. not to mention her awesome layouts!

Let me let her introduce herself in her own words:
***********************
HI! My name's Bernadette, but I'm known in forums as BernieTuffs! I'm 43, married to Andy, a teacher and Head of Senior Department, have 2 daughters, Antoinette (14) and Evangeline (8), and we live in Margate on the S.E. coast of the UK.

Until recently I worked with my mother, who is a Non-Surgical Footcare Specialist, but we have just retired! I'm hoping for more scrapping time now!

I am completely addicted to digi scrapping, and it amazes me how the ideas keep flowing! I'm a member of a few CTs now, although as my time became less I had to cut this back a little, and am left now with the people I really want to work with! They are Aimee Harrison Designs, Snickerdoodle Designs by Karen, JoeG Designs (although technically she found me, LOL!) and should Opanasko Designs come back to designing after having her baby, I'll be ready to work with her again!

One day, someone directed me to one of Hummie's videos on YouTube It was on inked edges. Now this REALLY appealed to me, as I'd always inked all edges in sight in my paper scrapping - LOVED it! - and I was so pleased I could actually understand what to do!! This led me to discover Hummie's World. Wow! What a place! It immediately felt friendly, and once I'd jumped in and started posting, it felt like my online home straightaway! The addition of the chat box now is lovely! And Hummie and Dawn are always around ready to help - they're so kind!! I also love the DigiScrap Map broadcasts! They're so much fun (still love that tiara Hummie!) and it's great to just sit and relax and watch!

To anybody who hasn't already subscribed here at Hummie's World, I'd say DO IT NOW!!! The price is so reasonable, and the knowledge you will gain will enhance your digi scrapping so much - it's also very fulfilling to be able to do these new things, and produce LOs you love! There are always people around to help with any questions, and to leave lovely comments in the gallery! I honestly don't think I've met such friendly people anywhere else in digiland!

*******************
I've asked Bernie to answer some interview questions. Here are her answers:

1. Were you/are you a paper scrapper? What made you make the switch to digital?
I started out as a paper scrapper some 7 years ago now. Then in 2008 I took an Open University Photography Course. Included with that was a copy of PSE 5. We used it for photo editing, but seeing the possibilities just for that made me wonder about digi scrapping! That Christmas I had a Jessica Sprague class for my Christmas present, started in January 2009, and by the end of the month was producing my own LOs!! I was quickly addicted!

2. How did you discover digital scrapbooking?
Well, I'd always been aware of it. My online home as a paper scrapper was UKScrappers, and the odd digi page had shown up there! Back before I knew any better, LOL, I was a real paper snob, and thought that digi wasn't really 'proper' scrapbooking (there's a lot of that attitude here in the UK!). Of course I was (and still am really) a complete paper addict and stroker, LOL, so I suppose it's not surprising really! Once I'd played with PSE during the photography course I mentioned though, I became fascinated with the possibilities!

3. What would you consider your "style" of scrapping?
I'm not sure that I have a style as such, apart from I'm def more a one photo on a page gal. I was like that with my paper scrapping too! I do like to cluster, and I also like very simple LOs! I LOVE using masks and spending hours layering them up to make more 'arty' pages!

4. When you're not at the computer scrapping or in the forum, where can you be found most often?
Well, that'd either be with the children and/or DH...or, when they're at school I'll probably be in my new kitchen a lot more now and hopefully creating some lovely food for my troop!!

5. What is your favorite lesson at Hummie's World?
As to my favourite lesson, I'd be hard pressed to choose just one! I would say that even when I've done a lesson on something I thought I already knew, I've ALWAYS learned something! At the moment I'm taking the Filter Challenges, and am loving the opportunity to really play with an effect - it's the sort of thing I love to spend time doing!!

***********************
And finally, I have asked Bernie to share some of her favorite layouts that she's made. She was kind enough to tell us why she chose them.
I encourage you to click on the links to see them in the gallery, and to make comments on them. Maybe you'll even be inspired to scraplift one or more of them!

Bernie says "I've chosen 5 of my fave LOs..mainly I've chosen ones that either I had such a good time creating, or that were a result of something new I'd learned and was really pleased about!"

This is exactly the sort of page I love to create! I adore masks, and then playing with effects such as blending modes and opacity, as well as layering up the masks, is such FUN!!!

OK, this isn't technically a LO, LOL, but I was so inspired by one of Hummie's pieces that I sat down and just played! I absolutely love the effect I got here, and hope to have this printed large on a canvas one day!!

My first time using a layer style! Bit of an adventure, but I love the effect when used on the background!

I think digi LOs that look as though they cold be a paper page are the hardest to do! I was just pleased with the decoupage effect I managed to achieve here!! Oh and there were lots of inked edges, LOL!

This was one of my first class LOs here at Hummie's World! Again, it's the stuff I love to do - masks, layering, blending!

Bernie, thanks again for being willing to be in the spotlight! It was great getting to know you better!!
