Hope you don't mind me starting a chat, but I was looking through the gallery wondering what was the main thing that people liked taking photos of?

I don't go anywhere without my camera, but I think my favourite subjects are nature and wildlife. Obviously I love taking photos of my DDs but they are grown up now and one has moved away, so I don't get the chance to take many of them. I am really lucky because where I live we have some gorgeous countryside and lovley natural beaches, so I get lots of variety in what I take.

What about everyone else, what do you like to take photos of and why?

Definitely anything outdoors. I take pics of my kiddos, too. There's just something relaxing about getting up close and personal with plants and animals and landscapes. Sigh...

I shoot tons of the grands and their parents. But my love I believe is nature. Cows, horses, aminials at the zoo. Went to the race track last Sunday. I plan to go back again. I also shoot construction progress. History. This is what it was

I love nature and wildlife too, but when I did film, I always thought I had to have a person in the photo or the cost of the film was wasted. It's hard to get out of that train of thought because I really do love photographing the beauty of the world now too.

I likw taking photos of nature, but I take the most pictures of the kids that I babysit. I am constantly taking pictures of them. Now I just need to get them organized, so that I can scrap them!!!!

I love taking photos of my family, but they are always so grumpy about it unless I sneak them pics. I really like taking photos of old dilapidated buildings. Or odd things like a wooden pallet leaning against a building.

I think my boys were really tolerant of me for a very long time taking photos of them. I know I might not have been as patient with my parents. But looking back now, I wish I had more photos of me, although there are quite a few.

What is it about old buildings that draws us to photograph them? I don't get that for new buildings.

I like photographing Nature, buildings, my family, old things & odd things. I'm the same way, I don't go anywhere without my camera!
My worries is...I'll get old & loose my memory so I take so many to remind me of the things I loved. Is that strange?
If I had to pick a favorite thing I photograph(other then my babies) is my herbal & fairy gardens. Flowers make beautiful pictures!

I love photographing nature - landscapes, critters, flowers, etc. I have a Raynox macro add-on, and I love experimenting with that. My "people" don't like having their pictures taken to satisfy my need to "click." *grin*

How much is a Raynox macro add-on? It does a good job? Is it expensive?

I like photographing trees and clouds, squirrels and birds, especially blue jays and black squirrels but they both move too fast for me! i like photographing anything outside and sometimes i'm able to get good shots. I am hopeless with people and anything indoors...sigh.

I have no preference for shots. I figure anything I snap is a learning experience .

I take photos to create memories. It can be anything that will remind me of the time I took that photo. Nature absolutely, if it relates to a memory. Family, trips, vacations, achievements, etc. I also take photos that I know will help me create the story for the memory, every vacation I take photos of the flowers and vegetation where we are for example.
