Where in the world is Hummie's World?

It is whereever you are at!

This new activity will begin now as our special activity for the month, but be open permanently.

Download the graphic and print it out on letter size paper. I suggest card stock or photo paper to make it stiffer, but any white paper will work.

Wheever you are at, take a photo of you holding the graphic. Reduce it to 600 px and upload to the gallery under the "Where is Hummie's World" label.

Post in this thread using the code underneath the photo in the gallery. Be sure to help us by making a note in the description regarding the location. Any other comments are welcome in the description.

We will then post your pin for you on our map, including your photo. The map is in the sidebar of the site, but can also be found here.

Take your photo in your own home if you want low effort. Or drive to a location that says something about your location and take a photo showing the background.

You may submit multiple graphics. Keep the graphic in your car when you travel and take photos whereever you go. We put a sticky note on our graphic so we could replace it with a new location at a later time. More sticky notes and a marker, along with the graphic, in a plastic baggie make it handy at any time in my car.

I hope everyone joins us! It will be more fun the more locations all over the world that we see Hummie's World.

Hummie!!! What a fabulous idea!!! Kind of like the "Stanley" doll that my grandson send all over and everyone added a postcard from where they were. It was called "Where's Stanley?".
Now I have to decide what shot of Summerville I want to get.

Very cool! When I saw that pic you posted yesterday and the map on the sidebar, I thought you would be doing something like this! Very cool! I've downloaded mine and will print it now. So, I don't travel very far though. The farthest I ever go is a couple of hours from home. Does that count for taking a pic at another location?
Nancy, that's a neat idea about the Stanley's. I wonder if we could do something like that for Hummie's World? That would be fun! We could name ours something else, and he/she could go visit anyone who wanted to participate. It would be a great way to learn more in depth about each other and where we live.

The thing with a traveling doll or postcard is that they often get stuck or lost -- especially with people on the internet you haven't met in real life -- it may go somewhere and then someone drops the ball and keeps it.

....you can do locations close if you want to submit many -- you'll just have to be really specific with the location so I can mark them correctly on the map.

That's a cool idea too -- we got ours wet and I need to reprint it -- but I did do it on photo paper because I didn't have white cardstock on hand.

You could glue it to cardboard ...whatever to make it easier to hold up ...or just figure out how to hold it up on plain paper so you can see it ...holding both sides or something ...doesn't matter....just can't wait to see them!

I promise i will do a better pic. Maybe this weekend and the Lemoore Naval Air Show! But here is mine with my webcam. My little wanted to get in the pic with me. It says central valley, ca on the paper.
