Where in the world is Hummie's World?

Hi Hummie, I am excited to see myself on the map. I did notice one thing and since I will actually also later post from Nagano City I wanted to point out that my latest submission was actually Mure town in Nagano prefecture where we live not actually Nagano City. When the map is enlarged, Mure shows up so it would be great if a tab was placed there instead of Nagano City. In fact when you really zoom in my tab is on the Prefecture Office in Nagano...funny which I did say Nagano Pref. The closest it seems you can get to my home is "Mure Station Nagano Prefecture, Japan" that shows up on the map. I live up the street a mile in a subdivision on the hill but it is all white on the map. I will be sure and also take photos eventually from Downtown Nagano, etc. so you can get a real tour of the area. My next post will be of the lake at Nojiri which I took a couple of days ago. Then later there will be scenes from Tokyo and of course Tokyo DisneyLand. Just don't want to overload everyone with too much from Japan! Looking forward to others joining this fun activity.

I did a search for Mure Station Nagano Prefecture, Japan and moved the marker there... it seems far from the other one. Does it look right now? You could always do a screen shot and show me where it should go too.

This is perfect, Thank you Hummie and sorry to trouble you. I just want to be able to later also show you Nagano city so thought this would be better! We say we are from Nagano. That is how people say it usually because many Japanese don't know all the small towns and villages within an area but they all know the area. Japan doesn't have states and counties like you have in the US but they have Prefectures which is the equivalent to a State. Nagano Prefecture is a very large area for Japan. One has to remember that Japan is about the same size as California in land mass with the population of half that of the US! We live in the Northern tip of Nagano Prefecture but just out of Nagano city. Each Prefecture usually if not always has the capital city of that prefecture with the same name. Hence, Nagano City in Nagano Prefecture. We are part of actually 3 villages that have merged into one township. Confusing. In Japan it is a large spread out area in around these mountains but for the US it is a very small area. I don't know the exact land mass of the area but I can tell you it is very "sparsely" populated with 12,450 or so people.

When I do a post for our home in Hachioji which is our temporary place of stay when we are in Tokyo I can give the exact address and you can put a tab directly on the house and then also view it in the photos and webcam to see our house and the street we live on. When our son did a webcam search of their home on Google Maps he saw himself outside in front of the house doing exercises! Quite funny!

Anyway, I hope to introduce you to a lot of areas in Japan and I will try and make it as clear as possible for you from the onset so you can place the tabs. It must be very confusing is all I can say. I am going to check and see if our actual house address would have worked but I am thinking that it is too confusing and there are towns that have the words in them. Also our actual subdivision only shows up unmarked empty with just roads on this google map.

Hummie, I wasn't sure if our address would work or how to write it since we write it backwards in Japan but I learned that if I put the below into the google map location it will put the green tab directly on our house! Which also seems far from the Mure Train Station where I had you put it. That distance is 1 and a half kilometers so roughly 1 mile. It will give you some perspective on the distances you are working with on the map of Japan. It it is too much hassle please don't bother but if you want the exact location pinpointed then the words below will get you there and show you the subdivision I live on called FukuiDanchi. As you can see, none of my address has anything to do with FukuiDanchi, or the streets names of our area, or even Mure village. Confusing huh! But a letter would reach me at the address below though we would write "Gun" instead of District and actually we don't even include the "Kamiminochi-Gun" when we write it. That is used for extreme out in the rural locations. And we don't add the word "Prefecture" because it is understood. Now I am sure I have confused you. Sorry!

I am also at a loss as to how to make my picture 600px, what is that ? pixels ? What dimensions in PSE5 will give me 600px ?
