Your photography challenge for this week is Bloom! I'm finding new blooms almost every day. Wildflowers are exploding and some of my bulbs are budding and I love this time of year! Anyway, find a bloom, anywhere - real, artificial, doesn't matter, just show us "bloom"!

Tammy, I love your yellow violets. I've only seen the purple ones. These are so sunny! Those raindrops are fabulous!

This is a cut bloom from last year, as the cold and frost came back to Michigan last week and we have no blooms here yet! I just loved the way the light hit it after I cut it.

I have a new camera - Nikon V1 with 10/100 lens - and I've been playing with the settings. Data on this photo

F 5.0/ ISO 100/ Exposure compensation -2.0 (it was really bright in the garden, so I darkened the exposure - I like how it made the leaves dark and glossy, but didn't really change the saturation on that beautiful flower!)

I have a couple of Spring blooms to share. The first is blossomed, and the second is peonies coming up. They will be a lucsious pale pink soon.

I put several on Flickr from yesterday's shoot at the Omaha Botanical Gardens, but am going to blog the others and just put one here. I tried to make these flowers look better with editing, but was surprised the original looked best! That doesn't happen often.

Blackberries blooming against an old fence.

This is was taken March of 2009 but I wanted to share it. I'll try to get a new picture if I get home early enough tomorrow.
