August Inner Reflections Challenge

As I am currently going through many changes and countless challenges in my personal life, I find myself reflecting inward more and more often. Who have I become? What brought me to where I am in my life today? Am I everything I hoped I would be? What's in store for my future? Where can I take my life next? As I started asking myself these questions, I decided to read inspirational books and, as I fully expected, I began wanting to scrap pages about concepts, thoughts, personality traits, strengths and weaknesses I saw within myself. Things I wanted to change and things I wanted to nurture; things I wanted to explore and things I wanted to purge.

I challenge you to do something similar. Each month, I'm going to bring you a word or short phrase. I want you to reflect on it and scrap a page about what it means to you. The page does not have to be about you, just what you want to represent to us about your thoughts on my topic of choice.

I originally thought I'd do this as a journaling challenge, and I encourage all of you to journal your little hearts out! But sometimes, as in my personal example for this month, a quote or just a few sentences will get your message across. Do what feels right for you.

August Inner Reflections Topic: Life Lessons

Our quote this month comes again from Warrior of the Light by Paulo Coelho. "The Warrior of Light has learned that God uses solitude to teach us how to live with other people. He uses rage to show us the infinite value of peace. He uses boredom to underline the importance of adventure and spontaneity. God uses silence to teach us to use words responsibly. He uses tiredness so that we can understand the value of waking up. He uses illness to underline the blessings of good health. God uses fire to teach us about water. He uses earth to explain the value of air. He uses death to show us the importance of life."



Life teaches us all kinds of lessons. From the youngest age to the oldest, we never stop learning. Whether we're paying attention or not, the lessons are there. It's often during times of trouble, challenges, disappointments, etc that we learn some of the most important lessons life has to teach.

I aways do my sample page for you with a quote for inspiration, but if I were to do a page for this challenge, mine would be "You are stronger than you think." It is probably the biggest lesson I've learned over the past year, and the one that has carried me through. What about you? What lessons have you learned that have changed your outlook? Were they difficult lessons? Did they come during times of trouble? Did you learn through your own actions or by observing something that someone else has gone through? Were they joyous lessons that you were happy to learn? DId you learn on your own or did someone help teach you?

Hi, I am new here, I m ade a page for this challenge, how do I get it uploaded to the gallery? I really loved the quote used for this

I think you had to wait for me to approve your first post before you could use the gallery. You should be good now.

If you need more help, let me know. I think you may be familiar with gallery sizes to upload. After you do so, there are handly codes to the right of your upload. Copy the one that has "linked" and then paste it in a forum post.

We like the linked ones because we can just click on the forum image and it opens up in the gallery right were we can comment.
