Using One Note to Organize and Tag Digital Scrapbooking Supplies
This video shares how to use Microsoft OneNote (or possibly other notetaking software) for organizing and tagging your digital scrapbooking supplies.
I am SO excited about this! I've had this idea in my mind for a long time now, but haven't had time to implement it.
Most digital scrapbookers use file management software such as Photoshop Elements Organizer, Bridge, Windows Live Photo Gallery, iPhoto, ACDSee, etc to tag in order to find what they need for the the layout they are working on.
I previously thought for sure I would use Windows Live Photo Gallery, but it is just too overwhelming to think about taking back six years of things!
Instead, I've decided to utilize Microsoft OneNote. It is so easy to set up and tag and search. In addition, IT IS PORTABLE!
I am using OneNote more and more for everything I do. It is great to consolidate.~Hummie

wow, thanks for this. I don't have OneNote, but I do have EverNote (a free app) and it works the same. I actually just input about 6 kits! The tagging is very easy. I used to use Picasa, but tagging is not nearly as easy. And searching gets all jumbled.

I just tried dragging the whole folder into it and it makes the shortcut.... not sure if that was mentioned.... saves a step....
It IS very easy to use....
I might use it for a lot more things.... just want to make sure about backing it up....

I have used Easy Noter (looks like a daytimer - I just have used the notes area for scrapbook stuff), they are supposed to be working on an app.
BUT I tried 1Note and am loving it.... I got one huge folder (Digitals) ALL added to 1Note. Was working on Kristen Aagard - I have about 60 items of hers..... LOL she has been one of my favorite designers for kids kits....
Probably won't get anymore done today.... it is Wednesday....

Oh, okay! You are using OneNote! Cool!
I use it for EVERYTHING!
I have a tutorial video on how to use it for digital scrapbooking recipes somewhere too.
I also have a section for the Bible. Each tab has a book of the Bible. So I copy the verse and then under it write my note, rather than writing in my Bible (my eyes are bad and I cannot see). I'm trying to move over all my handwritten notes from my Bible too into OneNote.
I have notes for work on this site.
I have notes for the movies we've watched, so if we ever wonder while we are trying to rent, I can look it up on my phone.
I have my to-do list on there.
I have used it to journal vacation trips so I have my journaling read to go when I get to layouts.
I use it like a Pinterest too.... because I've learned that these sites seem to come and go and will always be replaced by another, so I save stuff personally rather than just online.~Hummie

I have lots of apps for different things..... I use gnote on my tablet and my phone for my quiet time / prayer lists / sermon notes / Bible studies etc LOL
I was thinking about all the possibilities.... even thinking of paying Bills - save the links onto it.... Then I can just click on them individually..... I have to find out about backing it up (printing possibilities etc)....

Yes, I print from it.
Yes, it is just in one folder on your hard drive and you back that folder up just like any other files.
Actually, I have mine syncing to live.com (and so my two laptops, iPad, iPhone all sync there) and I can log in from any browser to live.com and use it also. When I got my second laptop, I installed the software and it immediately began syncing. I didn't even have to have any files backed up. It's in so many places.~Hummie
