I would think an action is okay to use. I would think styles would be okay too. For PSE users, for instance, you cannot make styles, but they are necessary to making good designs.
I want to be flexible, of course, and not stifle your creativity, but try to spur you on to creating something new and out of the box from what you normally make.
Yes, CU brushes are okay, of any kind you find that will help you make it shabby.~Hummie

Is there some sort of judging?
Or do you give comments on what is made? ;-)

Thank you. I was worried with the initial comments everyone thought it was too hard.
Welcome to the forum Anita.~Hummie

I've never done this challenge before, so I do not know. She says you are not competing against others, but just trying to do your best.~Hummie

I'm sure you will do well -- as long as you stretch yourself and learn, you've done well!
I look forward to seeing what everyone does, Pammy.~Hummie

Well, I just read the questions thread and realized that we were not suppose to use CU items. I don't have time to go back and re-do this week. This week is crazy with company coming, ds's birthday, and dh leaving on travel this weekend.
I only made the button and tag, the other items all started as CU. Should I remove my entry? When I read the challenge I missed the part in red above.Last edited by ptktj; 10-17-2012 at 09:23 AM.

I don't know the answer to that question.
I've never participated in The Design Factor. I did not watch it last year.
I understood I was just supposed to make up a challenge and offer something for everyone to learn.
I think Ripal should answer your question.~Hummie

I posted answer this question at our site.. but just so others know it too... Each challenge has its own rules/guidelines set by the hosts. They will be the one qualifying each entry when they're ready to give out the prizes. If the host is ok with the entry, I have no problems with it. There is no 'final prize' for completing all the challenges, considering designers always have their plates full as it is. I wanted to provide them the flexibility to miss a challenge if they must without feeling the stress about it. I wanted to make this experience to be learning and thinking out of the box for the designers more than anything else.
