Altered Notebook
Here is a notebook I did for a swap I was in last month. It was one of those little mini composition notebooks.

I will share how I did it.
First I used PSE to arrange the swirls and butterflies, then I printed that out on a transparency.
I printed out a bg paper from the same kit on photo quality inkjet paper (matte)
I cut the paper and transparency to fit my notebook. I measured and cut paper for the spine and attached that first, then attached the bg paper, then the transparency on top of that. ( I actually used my zyron to attach adhesive to each piece, not glue). I added the ribbon with the tag on it on top of everything. I used a circle punch to cut circles from paper to use as the tabs on the side.
Now the reason I printed the butterflies and swirls on the transparency instead of just on top of the bg paper was because I wanted it to be sturdy and hold up under handling, and plus it protects the paper underneath. I had to do the paper separate because if I put that on the transparency also, you would have seen the ugly black from the notebook under it.Lots of Love,
Dawn

Wow, this is really cute. I like this Dawn. Thanks for taking the time to explain it all...you explained it well and I can see all the parts.
You say you printed on matte paper, but what quality....how thick was it? Is it photo paper?~Hummie

OK, the box of paper I have states this on it...
Presentation Paper, formerly Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper
It is not a photo paper really..I think just brighter maybe?
To give you an idea on the thickness...my regular printer paper I use is 24lb. and this stuff is 27 lb. so it is about the same...just slightly thicker...and i mean slightly, lol.
And I have used regular printer paper to print things off on also...the best thing to do tho..to make sure all the texture and everything comes out on the print is to print at best photo setting on the printer.
Lots of Love,
Dawn

Ahhh..okay, I think I know exactly what paper you are talking about. I was thinking that photo paper would be too thick for this top of project.~Hummie

Well I'm trying to print out inside pages to write down things of my past in. So I'm trying to make up some thought words to help trigger the past for me. I'm wanting to do these for gifts too. They will be next years christams presents for some of the family. Mimi does the paper scrapping (can't convert her) and she watches her daughter's children and I thought it would be nice for her to put some of their milestones in it. but not just that, have places to say things he does this or that just like so and so. Or things she wants them to know when they grow up. The personal stuff too. She has 7 grandchildren now and her daughter wants another one. So I thought it would be nice to have some pages she could do that with. I'd also like to give her one for the people in the past. She can write about them so that it is there for the future. Of course there'd be tabbed sections just like yours. I thought your cover came out very well.

Have never actually altered a notebook but at a crop, we used envelopes to make a really nice album.

There is a "scrap a notebook" hybrid scrap at IvyScraps now. I was avoiding it, but this looks so neat i think i will do it this weekend. I gave all of my consultants one of these mini notebooks at the end of the semester, and there was one left, so i have NO EXCUSE not to try this! Maybe i will use one of my old kits--yeah, that's the ticket, hmmmmm.... I will take a picture and come back! Wow. OK, i do not have room in my house to start doing anything with paper, y'all!

Keep in mind that for doing hybrid projects, you don't need to have a lot of extra space, or "stuff" either. With a printer, scissors, glue, and a dining table, you can do many many great hybrid projects.GinaPost Thanks / Like - 1 Thanks, 0 Likes, 0 Dislikes, 0 Credits
